at DAR-Constitution Hall
Georgetown and a coalition of partners from around the world will present a historic musical celebration of the canonizations of Pope John Paul II and Pope John XXIII in the spirit of Pope Francis at DAR Constitution Hall.
Sir Gilbert Levine will lead Carnegie Hall’s Orchestra of St. Luke’s, The Krakow Philharmonic Choir, The Washington Choral Arts Society and soloists from the United States, Italy, Poland and Argentina.
H.E. Claudio Bisogniero, Ambassador of Italy to the United States, will attend together with Cardinal Donald Wuer and the Archdiocese of Washington, Georgetown University, and the ambassadors of Poland and Argentina.
The concert title is drawn from Nostra Aetate (In Our Age), a dedication of the Second Vatican Council issued in 1965 on interreligious dialogue and the relationship between the Catholic Church and Judaism, Islam, Hinduism and Buddhism.
PBS will broadcast worldwide the Peace Through Music “In Our Age” concert in the nation’s capital.
