As part of N.I.C.E. Festival, the Italian Cultural Institute and the Italian Cultural Society present a screening of “Tempo instabile con possibili schiarite” by Marco Pontecorvo.
In a village in the province of Pesaro, two friends, Ermanno (Lillo) and Giacomo (Luca Zingaretti), jointly manage a factory on the verge of bankruptcy that manufactures sofas. Their friendship is severely shaken by the discovery of a source of oil in their company’s courtyard. The lure of easy wealth and the arrival of consultant Lombelli (John Turturro) break the balance within the village and open up a gap in the armor of Paola (Carolina Crescentini), the awkward accountant Lillo’s teenage son (Andrea Arcangeli) has a crush on. While featuring a series of exhilarating sketches, this story also explicitly references the tragic death of Enrico Mattei.

N.I.C.E.
N.I.C.E. plays an important role in the dissemination of Italian cinema abroad, with particular attention given to Italian younger authors, who are as original as they are often unknown. Over the years, the interest toward Italian cinema has gradually increased, and N.I.C.E.’s rich array of films has been featuring a variety of “genres”: from art-house films to experimental cinema.
The mission of this festival is to represent, above all, a showcase for newcomers, but also an opportunity to reaffirm with even greater strength its metropolitan and community identity, while preserving its artistic quality and international connotation.
