EU Open House Event
The Blue Eyed Souls is the Lycée Rochambeau band organized by English and History professor, Mr. Howard Carey. Created in 2011, the band continues to evolve, despite the departure of many beloved musicians.
The group currently numbers 16 students, spanning from 8th to 12th grade: Bliss Bagnato-Conlin 4e1, Claire Latendresse 3e1, Julia De Castro Saldanha 3e3, Richard Furchtgott 2nde1, Julie Cardoze 2nde3, Nikolai Biancheri 1-ES, Michele Franchetti Pardo 1-ES, Thomas Sherringham 1-S1, Amanda Stavinsky 1-ES, Ilaria Galanti T-L, Nora Sleiman Haidar TS2, Frankie Guzikowski TS2, Sandra Klemet-N’Guessan T-S2, Elise Charpomier T-ES1, Nora Osseiran, and Amira Adib-Samiy.
Each year the group play a series of spring and early summer concerts and this year the band is featuring music from the 1950s to the early 1960s. After their 2014 debuts at the Turkish and Brazilian embassy residences, the band is delighted to be invited to play for the open house event at the Italian embassy.
The group also released a music video last year for their song “Bethesda Girls”, inspired by “California Girls” by the Beach Boys. In the video, the BES members and Rochambeau students are seen in different sites around the Washington , D.C. area.
