Founded in 1824, the Museo Egizio is today one of the world’s largest museums dedicated to ancient Egyptian Art outside of Egypt. Vast holdings include a statue of the Egyptian Pharaoh Ramses II and an important papyrus study collection. In the nineteenth century, the Egyptian Museum of Turin was one of the main centers of Egyptology in Europe. Dr. Christian Greco, Egyptologist and director of the museum, will describe recent investigations and new connections and archaeological contextualization.
