On the occasion of International Holocaust Remembrance Day, the Embassy of Italy in Washington and the Italian Cultural Institute of Washington present “A Starry Sky Above the Roman Ghetto.”
In this 2021 movie, directed by Giulio Base and presented at the 15th Festa del Cinema di Roma, high school student Sofia finds an old photograph of Sarah Cohen, a young Jewish girl. This discovery compels her to probe the history of the Roman Ghetto during World War II, searching for the lost girl and facing the atrocities of the Holocaust.
