MORE ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
Welcome to “Newrishing Spaces,” an innovative exhibition showcasing the imaginative architectural projects created by our talented students from the Catholic University of America, School of Architecture (CUA).
This collection explores the intersection of food, sustainability, and design, highlighting how architecture can respond to the pressing challenges of our time.
In a world where the effects of climate change and environmental devastations are increasingly evident, our students have harnessed their creativity and knowledge to envision spaces that not only celebrate the beauty of food but also promote sustainable practices. Each project reflects a unique perspective, inspired by the principles of permaculture, urban agriculture, historical revival and aquaculture design.
From vertical farms that bring fresh produce to waterfronts and urban landscapes to community kitchens designed for visitors’ entertainment and education, these designs offer solutions that are both practical and visionary. Through their work, students challenge us to reconsider how we interact with food, our environment, and each other.
As you explore the exhibit, we invite you to engage with these innovative concepts, envision new possibilities for our built environment, and reflect on the vital role of sustainability in food and architecture.
Together, let’s inspire a future where our spaces nourish both people and the planet.
