The Italian Cultural Institute of Washington and the Italian Program at the University of Maryland are pleased to invite you to a conversation on film restoration as part of Il Cinema Ritrovato On Tour film festival.

This year the festival opens on March 6 with a conversation about film restoration at the Italian Cultural Institute of Washington. The conversation features conservator Céline Stéphanie Pozzi from the laboratories of L’Immagine Ritrovata (Re-discovered image) at the Bologna Film Archive, and will include two prominent local experts, Dr. Kim Tomadjoglou (Audio-visual curator-archivist, historian, and former director of the Archives of the American Film Institute), and Siobhan Crnugelj Hagan (Director of the Mid-Atlantic Regional Movie Image Archive).

Il Cinema Ritrovato on Tour

The fourth Mid-Atlantic edition of Il Cinema Ritrovato on Tour is scheduled from March 6 to March 10, 2024, across the DMV area, concluding with screenings at the National Gallery of Art. The event is organized by the Italian Program and the Program in Cinema and Media Studies at the University of Maryland, College Park, in partnership with the Bologna Film Archive, Italy (Cineteca di Bologna). Collaborations this year include the Italian Cultural Institute of Washington, the Cultural Office at the Embassy of Spain, and the AFI Silver Theatre and Cultural Center.
