Reaching its 24th year of activity in the US – which is where the festival’s first edition originally took place to subsequently be expanded in many other countries throughout the world – N.I.C.E. can proudly claim to have greatly contributed in raising awareness and appreciation towards Italian cinema abroad.
The special event taking place in Washington, DC features the screening of Tutta Colpa di Freud (Blame Freud) followed by a Q&A session with Viviana Del Bianco, Director of NICE Festival, and Cristina Pucci, Press Officer for NICE Festival.

SYNOPSIS
Francesco Taramelli is a psychoanalyst who is dealing with three patients going through various hurdles in their love lives: Marta is chasing a deaf-mute man who has stolen things from her book shop, Sara is a lesbian who was left by her girlfriend just after she proposed to her, and 18-year-old Emma is seeing a 50-year-old architect called Alessandro, who is already married. Unfortunately, these three patients are Francesco’s three beloved daughters

Paolo Genovese (Rome, August 20, 1966) is an Italian film director. He graduated in Economics and began his career as a copywriter. In 2002, the movie Incantesimo Napoletano (Neapolitan Spell), directed with Luca Minieri was nominated for the David di Donatello for best short film and Marina Confalone was awarded Best Actress. In 2006, the couple directed the television series Nati Ieri (Born Yesterday). In 2007, the film Viaggio in Italia – Una favola vera (Journey to Italy – A true tale), also directed with Luca Minieri, was broadcast in episodes during the television program Ballaro. In 2008, the two have directed the mini series Amiche Mie (My girlfriends), broadcast on Channel 5. He also directed, this time alone, La banda dei Babbi Natale (2010), Immaturi (2011), Immaturi – Il viaggio (2012), Una famiglia perfetta (2012), and Tutta colpa di Freud (2014).
