Joining the celebrations for the 21st Annual Week of Italian Language in the World, the Embassy of Switzerland in the U.S. dedicates its October 2021 edition of the Swiss Film Club to Atlas, a feature by Niccolò Castelli. The film will be shown with English subtitles.

Atlas follow Allegra, a young woman with a passion for mountain climbing. After a trip to the Atlas Mountains ends in tragedy, she returns home a different person–crushed and consumed by guilt and hatred. Unable to overcome the trauma months later, she meets Arad, a young refugee from the Middle East, who forces her to confront her perception of reality, her fears, and heal her profound inner wounds.

Participation in the Swiss Film Club is simple:

• Register here to receive exclusive, complimentary access to the film. The earlier the better! (Please note: Even if you have registered for past editions, you must register again.)
• Registrants will receive a message from Eventbrite with access to view the film once it is available. You must be logged into Eventbrite it access the link.
• Watch the film anytime between Saturday, October 16, and Monday, October 25, 2021. (If you don’t yet have one, you will need to create a Vimeo account to view.)
• After you watch, send your questions and points for discusson to: washington.events@eda.admin.ch, with the subject line “Swiss Film Club: Atlas.”
• Join the Swiss Club at 1:00pm ET on Monday, October 25, for a live discussion on Crowdcast, in partnership with the Consulate General of Switzerland in Chicago and the Italian Cultural Institute in Chicago, with the film’s director, Niccolò Castelli, to answer your questions and learn more.
