The Italian Cultural Institute of Washington is pleased to present an afternoon with Sara Gama at Georgetown University, in collaboration with Professor Laura Benedetti, Chair of the Department of Italian Studies. This event is part of the Institute’s broader commitment to sports diplomacy — an initiative that explores how athletic exchange can strengthen ties between Italy and the United States and foster greater cross-cultural understanding.
Sara Gama is one of the most iconic figures in Italian soccer: former captain of the national team and an inductee of the Italian Football Hall of Fame. Beyond her athletic achievements, she is a dedicated activist for gender equality and racial justice in sports and society.
