Interested in the European Union? Get to know us firsthand by volunteering at the 7th Annual European Union Embassies’ Open House on Saturday, May 11, 2013; 10AM – 4PM.
We are looking for volunteers to help us direct visitors to the participating embassies from Open House bus stops along Embassy Row and other downtown locations as well as metro station information booths. Other volunteers will greet visitors at select embassies, and assist passengers and drivers aboard the Open House buses.
VOLUNTEER POSITIONS (3-HOUR SHIFTS):
INFORMATION BOOTH (Dupont Circle, Van Ness, or Foggy Bottom) & Bus Stops (16 locations)
direct visitors to embassies and shuttle buses
hand out program guides and answer questions
assist with booth setup or breakdown
EMBASSY (a select few)
greet visitors at embassy
hand out program guides
hand out and collect evaluations
SHUTTLE BUST (5 bus routes)
ride shuttle bus route and announce stops
answer visitor questions while on the bus
count riders with clicker
Orientation and training sessions will be held at the EU Delegation on Tuesday, May 6 at 12:30 pm and 5:30 pm. Attendance is mandatory for all volunteers. Volunteers receive an official EU Open House polo shirt and cap on the day of the event. Embassy party for volunteers (details to follow).
