Revolutionary, controversial, lashing the bourgeois society: this and much more is La Traviata, one of Giuseppe Verdi's most celebrated operas. Maestro Speranza Scappucci, among the first and most acclaimed women conductors in the world, returns to Washington DC to recount the story of Violetta. Performing some of the Traviata’s famous arias at the piano, she will show the connection between the music and the libretto and unveil the secrets of an opera that represents a highlight of Italian culture in the world.
