19th WEEK OF ITALIAN LANGUAGE IN THE WORLD

The Department of Italian at Georgetown University, in collaboration with the Embassy of Italy in Washington DC and the Italian Cultural Institute, are pleased to announce a symposium for educators focusing on the challenges to research and teaching that 21st century classrooms and learning environments pose.

In particular, we will discuss questions such as: How do young adults learn in the digital era? How do we tailor our courses to reach the more diverse, independent, tech-savvy, and active students that sit before us in the classroom? How do we incorporate 21st century skills such as creativity, collaboration, communication and leadership into our lessons to better prepare our students for success when they reach the job market?

The conference will provide a venue for educators to share their research and updated approaches and pedagogical strategies that have been successfully tested and adopted at both a course and program level in the high school and college classroom.

This event is organized under the High Patronage of the President of the Italian Republic as part of the 19th Week of Italian Language in the World, an event promoted yearly by the Italian diplomatic and cultural network to foster the diffusion and study of the Italian language in the world.
