Detective Montalbano, A Delicate Matter

Detective Montalbano, A Delicate Matter

The Italian Cultural Institute, in collaboration with MHz Networks, presents a screening of Detective Montalbano, A Delicate Matter by Alberto Sironi.

On his way to a vacation, Montalbano ends up working on two very different cases. One concerns the murder of a well-loved 70-year-old woman who worked as a prostitute, and the other is an accusation of molestation at a school. The latter case he handles with discretion, and he also manages to finally identify the woman’s assassin.

Italian actor Luca Zingaretti reprises his iconic role as Salvo Montalbano in the 27th episode of the international blockbuster series set in the fictional Sicilian city of Vigata.   As the honest and independent police chief with a penchant for fine food, Montalbano balances the demands of his northern Italian superiors and the realities of small-town crime. The work brings him and his deputies across the paths of unforgettable, uniquely Sicilian characters.
