online > 24 Caprices by Pierre Rode – An Online Project Featuring 24 Italian Violinists

As a result of the current pandemic, Conservatories and Music Academies in Italy were forced to close and to transfer their activities and classes online.

In an effort to inspire young artists and contribute to their academic training, David Alogna, Italian teacher and violin virtuoso, asked for the collaboration of 23 of the most acclaimed violinists for the realization of a very unique project, the recording of one of the 24 Caprices op. 22 for Solo Violin by Pierre Rode, an important and required piece in the education of every violin student.

The project, which was supported by CIDIM – Comitato Nazionale Italiano Musica and the magazine Suonare News, features violinists Davide Alogna, Emmanuele Baldini, Alessio Bidoli, Alberto Bologni, Daniela Cammarano, Gennaro Cardaropoli, Gabriele Ceci, Fabrizio Falasca, Marco Fiorini, Giuseppe Gibboni, Federico Guglielmo, Michelangelo Lentini, Enzo Ligresti, Fulvio Liviabella, Salvatore Lombardo, Francesco Manara, Luca Marzolla, Liù Pelliciari, Germana Porcu, Salvatore Quaranta, Luca Santaniello, Giacomo Scarponi, Anna Tifu, Edoardo Zosi. 

The recording is divided into four installments, each including 6 Caprices, with commentaries in Italian and English.
