Singer-songwriter Simona Molinari is among the most well-loved of the Italian music scene. Molinari has collaborated with world famous artists like Al Jarreau, Gilberto Gil, Peter Cincotti, Andrea Bocelli, Dado Moroni, Danny Diaz, and many more.
In Italy, she is best known to the public for the radio hit “In Search of You” and for her two appearances at the Sanremo Festival in 2009 with the song “Egocentrica.” In 2013, she collaborated with New York jazz musician Peter Cincotti on the Gold Record-reaching song “La Felicità,” and was involved in the soundtrack of the 2016 film Tiramisu.
This program is part of Unexpected Italy, the Festival organized by the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in collaboration with the Embassy of Italy in Washington DC and the Italian Cultural Institute.

Unexpected Italy
The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, together with the National Symphony Orchestra and Washington National Opera, and in collaboration with the Embassy of Italy in Washington DC and the Italian Cultural Institute, are proud to present Unexpected Italy, a celebration of Italy’s extraordinary artistic and cultural heritage. Throughout May 2019, the Center will present a variety of art forms that reflect Italy’s diverse arts and culture.
