Accordi Disaccordi, Hot Italian Swing

The Embassy of Italy and the Italian Cultural Institute, in collaboration with CIDIM (Comitato Nazionale Italiano Musica) and WPFW, proudly present a concert by Accordi e Disaccordi, Hot Italian Swing.

Accordi Disaccordi is an Italian band oriented on a gipsy jazz repertoire. The trio performs what they define “hot Italian swing”, a unique style combining jazz, swing, blues, and folk influences, along with a taste of film scores, and while preserving their underlying Gypsy jazz style, a tribute to the sounds of famous guitarist, Django Reinhardt.

Formed in 2012, Accordi Disaccordi’s prior engagements include five consecutive editions of the world renowned Umbria Jazz Festival, where they opened for famous musicians like Paolo Conte, Paolo Fresu, Stefano Bollani, Chick Corea and Herbie Hancock, Tony Bennett, and Lady Gaga.

This concert will be broadcasted by WPFW on Tuesday, April 24 at 7:00pm.

ACCORDI DISACCORDI

Accordi Disaccordi is an Italian band with an active presence in the international music scene. Born in early 2012, the trio consists of founding members Alessandro Di Virgilio, Dario Berlucchi, guitars, and Elia Lasorsa, double bass.

In just six years, Accordi Disaccordi performed in more than 700 venues throughout Europe, and appeared at important festivals and jazz clubs including the Umbria Jazz Festival and Jazz à Juan.

They recorded four albums so far: Bouncing Vibes (2013), Swing Avenue (2015), Live Tracks (2016), and the self-titled Accordi Disaccordi, which was released in September 2017. While in the first three albums the trio included standard jazz and Gypsy jazz arrangements, pop songs, and film scores, along with some original songs, it is in the fourth album where their style becomes most evident. Accordi Disaccordi is the trio’s ultimate expression with a repertoire of 14 original songs all written by the band members themselves.
